Our Chihuahua Lucky did so good! The staff is so patient, loving, and kind. I was worried because Lucky can be nippy with people he doesn't know, and he didn't nip once. They're incredible with dogs. Go here, you won't be disappointed. 1,000 stars!
We have a Shepherd husky mix and a Great Pyrenees malamute mix, and Janessa did an outstanding job. I've never seen our Great Pyrenees look so good and have so much hair taken off of her. My dogs are a pain and don't behave well, and they were great with them.
Janesa did a wonderful job on my almost 100 pound chocolate Labrador Retriever. Before his visit he was shedding so much it was terrible, but she managed to deshed him and made a noticeable difference when we got him back.

I always worry when I leave Olivia with another person, but Dawnell did amazing. She listens, she communicates about your pet, and she knows their names. They're not just a number, she treats them like her own.

The Shaughnessy family, at your service
Barking Beauties is a family run salon led by Dawnell Shaughnessy, who has been grooming dogs and cats for more than sixteen years. Alongside her, apprentice groomer Aiden and the rest of the team share one simple belief: every pet deserves to be treated with patience, kindness, and care.
We built our salon around your pet's comfort, with a dedicated bathing and drying room and a calm, unhurried pace. Whether it is a doodle that mats easily, a big dog who needs extra room, a nervous rescue, or a cat who needs a lion cut, your pet is in gentle, experienced hands.

Do you groom cats as well as dogs?
Yes. We are a full dog and cat grooming salon. Owner Dawnell has groomed cats for over ten years, from gentle baths and brush outs to full lion cuts.
My dog gets anxious at the groomer. Can you help?
Absolutely. Calm, patient handling is the heart of what we do. We work at your pet's pace in a quiet, clean space, and we are happy to take things slow for nervous pups. Just let us know when you book.
Do you groom doodles and large breeds?
Yes, those are some of our specialties. We handle doodles, poodles, and other curly coats, as well as large and double-coated breeds that need extra time and space.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online any time through our booking page, or call us at (208) 813-8296. We recommend booking ahead, especially around the holidays.
Where are you located and what are your hours?
We are at 1115 12th Ave S in Nampa, Idaho. We are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and closed Sunday and Monday. Free parking is available.
How much does grooming cost?
